Meine Idee war es für das Projekt „Floating Land„ ,das Salz dem Ozean zurück zu geben. Salz ist in unserem Körper unser wichtigstes Mineral. Es erhält den Wasserhaushalt in unserem Körper aufrecht. Da unser Blut den gleichen Prozentanteil Salz hat wie das Meer, war meine Überlegung, das Salz dem Ozean zurück zu geben. Salz ist unser letzter Hinweis, daß wir einst aus dem Meer hervorgegangen sind.
Ich mischte Salz in einheimisches Bienenwachs und versiegelte damit 11 runde Sperrholzplatten. Das aggressive Meerwasser wäscht dann nach einiger Zeit das Salz heraus und somit kehrt das Salz in den Ozean zurück.

For the Floating Land project in Noosa, Queensland. I proposed to give salt back to the ocean. Salt is one of our most important minerals for surviving and regulating our blood and the osmoses of our water balance. As all life emerged from the sea and our blood has the same percentage of salt as the ocean water, it is the last heritage of our origin.

I mixed salt into melted natural, native beeswax to cover plywood disks. The aggressive ocean releases the salt from the floating plywood gradually and so the salt returns to the sea water.
